Moving From Summer to Fall

I enjoy this time of year. When you start to know that school is coming and things will have an order. Don't get me wrong I love summer weather and I love the flexibility that it brings. But with organization I get more work done, and of course that means more wonderful products to share with all of you!

I have many ideas in mind and can't wait to "get them out". One purse idea came early and I was excited to get it listed. Fall brings the ideas out in me and gets me inspired. I love mixing the turquoise, brown and orange and can't wait to incorporate that into a purse soon!

When fall comes where you live, do you feel a change or do things stay the same?

What inspires you?

Hello! I hope this finds you having a great Friday! Yesterday as I was making a treasury for Etsy, I couldn't help but notice all the amazing artists that we have in our midst daily! As I scrolled through to find that perfect picture to make the perfect treasury I felt myself getting ideas just scrolling through my head, and they wouldn't stop. Almost as if a faucet had been turned on and the lever broke. My favorite part was that none of the art that inspired me was "my art", it was just beautiful work.
Recently, I was asked what inspired me, and I said nature and the world around me, but I think yesterday what inspired me were other artists and all that is presented with that. Color, texture, beauty, etc. So next time you are feeling like you want to be inspired and you don't know where to find it, try walking through other artists shops, either online or in person, and see what happens!

Have a wonderful day everyone, stay creative and ask yourself: What inspires you?

Featured Etsy Shop Of The Day!

I have been on Etsy for about a year and a half. In that time I have met so many talented artists! Including the person I am going to share with you today! Easybaby or Easy123 are two shops with one talented artist! In her shops you will find beautiful scarves, hats, household items, and many other items! Another great thing about Easy is her dedication to Breast Cancer Awareness! She has items in her 123 shop that are dedicated to cancer awareness and can be purchased for charity! She is a tender hearted woman that takes pride in her work and will only
use quality materials to crochet or knit her items! Please take a moment to "walk" through her shops and find something that fits your personality!

Thank you so much for taking a minute and looking through this wonderful shop! Watch for other features! Have a great day and stay creative!

Starting Over from the End

As many of you may have tried and succeeded in keeping up with your blog....I have not. So I have decided to "start over" in many ways. This is one. So over the coming weeks I am going to have new thoughts and ideas to throw out there. One is that I am going to feature different sellers on Etsy either daily or weekly, depends how fast I can learn how to add pictures, text, html, and links. I am sure I will get the hang of it.

Have a look around and make sure to follow me so that for the future you will learn of some great Etsy shops!!

Have a great day!

A New Week

Again a new week has arrived! For those of you following my new work worked pretty good. Sometimes I crocheted instead of going to the sewing room, but for the most part it kept me on track. I am half way through my baggie goal and loving the fabrics that I have found on my shelf!
This week will start with baggies, and then will turn into some custom orders! I love custom orders because you make something that you know the person will love! I can't wait to get started on those! Also, I am starting to get back on the treadmill, which feels great! This week I am going to amp it up a bit - no more "lazy" walking!

This past weekend I worked on some new projects. These pictures I have listed here are of my new hat and mitten set. It will be posted to my www.ciliciacrochets.etsy site in the next few days!

Stay inspired, Stay on track, and ENJOY whatever you are doing! :)

Let the countdown begin! 144 Days till Reopening!

It's time again for me to start thinking ahead to Memorial Day Weekend.

That is when I reopen the shop out at the Winery and the fun begins. Preparations start early, so starting today my new routine will be geared toward getting ready to open shop! I am so excited to open again and meet new people, see past customers, and enjoy the fun of the winery!

So today I am going to start on my reusable baggies...they were popular last year, hoping for the same this year! Looking through the fabric I am so excited to start working with it and see the outcome!

Have a wonderful day everyone...

Welcome 2010!

Welcoming in a new year always seems fresh and new. Almost like a clean slate. Today I will evaluate what should be done in the new year. Today I will set goals. Today I will make resolutions. All of these things happen every year. This year however the evaluations, goals, and resolutions will not be those things that I usually fail at achieving every year, but will be things that will inspire me to be the best that I can be without the stress of failing on a resolution. Today I wish you and yours a great new year. I hope that you sit down and come up with a plan that is achievable in your own life, and not what you feel you will fail at even while you write it down. Make 2010 one of promise and hope and the best that it can be!

Happy New Year 2010 everyone!
